HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! So, I know I am late to the show, but I want to wish you all a very prosperous and blessed year, 2019 is your year, LET’S GO GET IT !!!!

So, in true blogger fashion, I took this time as an opportunity to reflect. 2019 was a hard year, but I am also very blessed to reach the end of it and see 2019. I don’t subscribe to this “new year, new me” rhetoric. But, I do see the new year as another opportunity to do better. Instead of a new book, this is a new chapter, building on the knowledge and experience of past years.

I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the goals that I set – and bravely published – last year.

2018

  • Save C

Well I will give this a C and that is just for effort, because 2018 did not see an advancement of my saving accounts :(. But, what it did see is a clearing of my hefty almost £2k overdraft (I wrote about it here)!!!!! And, while I am happy to finally look at my account and see that it is in the black, this is definitely a resolution that will be recycled for this year. Having a saving pot to fall back on is really important to me and I have spoken about it and now I need to do it, 2019 is the one!

  • Lifestyle changes (minimum 2L of water a day) B-

Lifestyle changes (minimum 2L of water a day) B-My lifestyle has definitely changed for the better, is it where I want it to be? No. But, I’ve made a start. I am now a person who can be found at the gym at least 2 times a week. I am now a person who drinks at least 1 litre of water a day (I am still working on getting that up to 2 litres 🙈). And I am making small dietary changes along the way, I have substituted cereal for musli, sugar for honey and I am making sure I get in that 5 a day. The aim is to up the game a little bit more, perhaps have fish at least once a week, incorporate fasting and have a veggie day (perhaps the hardest for me haha).

  • Learn to drive A*

This one I smashed out the park!!!! I am blessed to say that I passed my practical!! I started these lessons at 17 and after failing twice I gave up and didn’t look back. 5 years later, I was released back on the roads and after 3 months (my theory was going to expire, so I had a tight deadline) I finally passed my practical 😬.

  • Blog weekly E

I am actually ashamed with this one. I cannot say that my blog got as much attention as I declared it would at the beginning of the year. I only posted 15 out of the at least 52 that I thought I would post. Yes, this resolution is going to be at the top of the list this year, get ready, LL will flourish this year :).

  • Travel B+

I give this a strong go this year, possibly at the expense of saving 🙈. But, I had an amazing time and I also stepped out and went SOLO baby. I have to say, God is good and be brought me to and fro safely, 2019, WE MOVE!

  • Give back E

I didn’t do as much as I could have to be honest. I donated to a few charities here and there, but I cannot say that I got stuck in and really tried to affect change. Giving back is one of my passions, so I am disappointed, I won’t speak on it too much, but I have so much in the pipeline for 2019 👊🏽.

Wow, 2018 what a year. Sometimes, we have the tendency to focus on what went wrong that we don’t take time to reflect on what went right. I started the year without a job and ended the year with a career so far from what I saw for myself, but so right for me. My friends and family are in good health, my boyfriend prospering, God is good. At the same time 2018 was my hardest year yet, but do you know what the hard years do? They break you, they mould you, they make you and you come back stronger, ready to overcome and experience all that life has to offer.

So, let’s make 2019 our year! A year for victories, a year of growth and a year of self-exploration and love.

Happy new year everyone, please join the family and subscribe.

Stay blessed,
